Wind & Stability Preliminary Assessment

Share the system and site details. Asiva applies the technical starting parameters for catalogue systems; your report is sent only after you verify your email address.

Tripod air-terminal system
Asiva applies the selected catalogue system’s mast, ballast and safety factors as technical parameters.

What does it assess?

This tool carries out a preliminary overturning-stability check under wind for ballasted tripod air terminal systems placed on a roof. When the project design wind is known, the overturning moment from the wind load on the selected system is compared with the resisting moment provided by its ballast.

Which inputs are used?

  • System: AH40091 (standard tripod, 5 m), AH40131 (standard tripod, 7 m), AH40551 (insulated tripod, 5 m), AH40581 (insulated tripod, 8 m) or a custom system. Asiva applies the mast, ballast and safety factors for catalogue systems.
  • Site: the province of the installation, the roof elevation above ground and the surroundings (coast or very open, open site, industrial or urban).
  • Design wind: the basic design wind (m/s) from your project or standard document, or determination by Asiva through technical review.
  • Installation: standard installation, or an external conductor running freely from the mast to roof level and its length.
  • Annual mean wind: retrieved automatically for the selected province from Open-Meteo / ECMWF ERA5 (10 m); for information only.

What does the result mean?

  • If you entered the design wind, the report states either "Preliminary stability check is positive" or "Further engineering review is required". This is an idealised preliminary check using the catalogue system’s technical starting parameters.
  • If you chose "Let Asiva determine it" or a custom system, no numerical result is produced. The report is a preliminary suitability summary listing the points for technical verification; the numerical assessment is completed once our engineering team has confirmed the design wind.

Limits

  • The output is not a product approval or a structural suitability certificate.
  • Roof structure, anchors and friction, local pressures and installation details must be verified separately by an authorised engineer.
  • Annual mean wind is not a design wind and is not MGM station data.
  • Custom systems are assessed through technical review only.

Frequently asked questions

I do not know my design wind. What should I do?

Choose "Let Asiva determine it". Your request is recorded and the report contains the preliminary suitability summary; the numerical stability result is produced after the technical review.

Why is the annual mean wind not used in the calculation?

A mean wind speed does not replace the basic wind speed used in design, so it appears in the report as climate context only.

My system is not in the list.

Continue with "Custom system". These systems are assessed through technical review rather than catalogue parameters.

How do I receive the report?

After you submit the form, a verification link is sent to your email address. Once you open it within 24 hours, the report is sent to the same address.
